Thats what I thought too, but actually, we are only exempt from the test, not the laws themselves. only cars 66 and older are exempt from all applicable smog and safety laws.

Why would I spend $5k building a turbo stroker, when I could just buy a z31T donor?

How about if I put the $4k saved, into the VG, who would make more power? also an N/A L30 stroker doesn't put out much power, for how much it costs. I could raise the boost on a vg to 10psi, raise the fuel pressure to keep things in check and destroy a N/A stroker on the dyno.

w00t! Finally got around to working on my "project 280zt". Wired it up, drained the old fuel, and got it started. Minus the 3 leaking fuel injectors and shot fuel pressure reg, it's a runner!

Since I'm doing the Z31T ecu / MAF upgrade, I just mocked up the wiring harness, so I can make sure it runs, then pull it back off, make the modifications, and make it look purdy.

Does the car run at all right now?

If you don't have an a/f gauge, the manual way to adjust the AFM is to rotate the flap by hand (just push the counter weight) left or right. Listen to the motor as you do this... when you push it one way or the other, the motor sounds & runs better, that's the direction to adjust the spring.

I bet your right lol And ya I could be mine, if I ever had enough money at one time XD

Yes the power glove is needed when messing with the S130 ECU!

hey nismo, how was it wiring the fuel pump relay to operate off the AFM micro switch? thats the only thing that worries me on my turbo wire up since i've only done it on a 240 and 260 where the fuel pump just turned on with the key...

im also considering just bypassing that and having it operate off key turn procedures and screw the 5 second prime...

I went to go check on the status of my trans rebuild, I got down there and asked the guy "So hows the trans look?" He replied "what trans? ... OH that little one! I haven't gotten around to it yet" So decided to just take it home, it didn't even move from the spot where I set it down in his shop...

Snowy, connect the lower right prong in that plug to ground.

I have a thread on fuel pump problems on this forum. Turns out my fuel pump control mod was going out. I grounded that wire and been driving it ever since. It still does the 5 second prime before startup, and then the pump runs the whole time you're driving.

I didn't do anything w/ the AFM micro switch. Just wired it up like stock. Though I did realize yesterday that the fuel pump was priming even when I disconnected the fuel pump module during testing. I think that's because I wired it to the 280z fuel pump wire that must still be connected somewhere else. Though that won't matter anyway because when I upgrade the harness to the Z31T ecu, I have to remove the module.

Is this the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump module?
