I've had horrible luck with SBCs if its not one thing its another thing. on the flip side. I've never had a problem with an L engine

Problems with a small block chevy or ford and its prolly due to neglect or tampering...or abuse. Both small blocks are solid as hell when kept.

Pull it, rebuild it. Can be done over the weekend if you work slow and rebuild kits are cheap.

Are you the original owner? I'm guessing you are not, so the previous owners probably did not do good maintenance. My dad bought a 96 Silverado brand new, sold it a couple months ago to buy my 620. It had 325,000 miles and still ran strong and no leaks of any sort, and all we ever did to it was the usual tune-ups. Its all in the maintenance.

Im the 3rd owner. First owner was an old farmer who used it for towing. second was my father who took care of it very well then me. And I keep very good care of it as well. So it shouldnt be falling apart but it is.

Hmmm the truck just doesn't like you
Haha kidding, I don't know man my dad, brother, and I have had great luck with small block chevys. I love everything about them other than gas mileage. Although the LSx series have been known to get good gas mileage

lol I made a rough parts list of all the crap I'mma need for my restomod...

and while I was at work today I came up with this idea to make an epic L28 which I have the resources to build, just whether or not I want to spend the money to make it happen lol

(think 3.4L, 12.7:1 compression, and E85 )

E85... meh, i don't know if you need that. plus you'll need MASSIVE injectors, when you run E85 on a performance car you need alot more of it than standard gas/race gas.
