How? Still has 2 hinges and a latch.

 

because the hinges have to be bigger and redesigned, you have to make the body of the car stronger in the area where the hinges are going to be mounted, and you have to redisgn the hood ontop of that leaning over a set of plastic fenders to work on a motor, or trying to change the belt will usually damage then. That and the way modern cars are designed, its alot easier to work on them with the hood up and not in the way. theres alot of reasons why car company's dont use theme.
