A/c Problem

EDIT thread title: A/C Problem!
Im surprised that its taken me so long to ask about this since i live in hot *** miami lol, but about a year ago my A/C crapped out. Basically the blower still works even tho it makes a horrible screeching sound when i turn it on (bad belt i guess) but the air doesnt come out of the vents...i played with all the switches and nothing. This happened out of no where, my a/c used to work fine and one day i turn it on and no air comes out of the vents. What can it be and how can i fix it? Thanks

The vent problem is common & there's been a lot of threads about it. The vents are controlled by vacuum tubes. If there is a leak or crack in any of those tubes, the vents won't work & it will default to blow through the floor vents only.

Using the secret word "vents" in the 280zx Search section yielded the following (plus much more!).

Yeah that thread pretty much goes nowhere. find the canister on the passenger side of the firewall and check the feed hose and the ones going into the firewall. if there aren't any cracks or leaks you should may need to replace it?

It might not be the blower he's talking about squeaking...

If the blower doesn't work, look for the glass fuse up under the dash on the passenger side and replace it. Get your yoga stretching in!!! Your head will be on the floor and your feet up on the headrest.
