Big Problem

So, engine started to tick after I raced it last night... ticking went away very quickly... so may have been an exhaust leak that got worse for a minute?? idk.. anyways... I started it up this morning, SUPER cold... had to floor the throttle to get it to start.. took about 10 cranks, then BARELY started.. let it warm up and then drove it to mcdonalds.. turned it off, when I got back to it I started it up; started fine... then it would idle at 1200 rpms and when I hit the throttle even a little bit it jumped down to 500rpms and I had to really hit the throttle to get it into gear.. 5spd n/a... help anyone?

check your injectors. sounds like a fuel problem to me. also check your fuel filter and make sure after doing all this to do an induction service and a throttle clean. if that doesnt work check for spark to see how the distributor assembly is performing (i.e. cap and rotor may be worn), and also check your spark plugs and wires and make sure theyre up to date. for right now cant think up of anything else other than the listed things that may cause your problem.

Welcome to ZDriver!

The first and easiest thing to do is check the ECU diagnostic codes. Then focus on the given problem.

start easy. check air, look at the filter, check intake pipes for debris, especially against the MAF. next check your spark/timing/distributor cap and rotor, after that go for injectors. you could try some seafoam in the gas.
