A/C Questions

In my 1982 280ZXT I seem to all of the sudden have this problem...well since I put in my stereo, this problem whereas my fan only blows through the floor vents. It used to blow through all the vents depending on where I had the selector...now just the floor. The fan is still blowing super strong but...well you know. So what is the deal? Is the vent selector switch vacuum controlled?? Coincidently, my '79 did exactly the same thing...as soon as I put in the CD player.

Yep.... all the vents are vacuum controlled. If you have the auto climate control it's "super" controlled by vacuum. There's a leak somewhere in your lines preventing vac (or the vac pump isn't working). The default position for the vents is floor mode.

Dunno where that came from since we're not talking about Bimmers in this thread... but T in ti actually stands for TOURING (as in the wagon / hatchback) touring model.
