caty's dont really kill anything performance wise except noise, unless they are the new style ones in the new obd2 style system.

Heh, the donor car I bought for the engine worked so well I couldn't stand to screw it up. Even came with an 8 speaker, 10 disc cd player radio, and a sunroof that closes when you open the door to get out. Gets decent mileage too. Kept it and had to buy ANOTHER engine... NO, I don't count that car as part of project cost..

(the t56 has proved itself, unlike the ford)
Just to give ya a clue as to how far off you are, here's a pile of old used stock ford parts, that I think is faster than anything you've ever had, that had 4 wheels.

Remember, according to you this would cost 20k.

You'd be able to get rid of your L24, you'd have enough money to buy an RB26dett, and you could have In n Out...

...if you didnt' live in Oregon

his best is a 9.62 on a stripped out 3k pound 5.0 thats pushing 21 PSI of boost, at 8k RPM, he has a custom stand alone EFI, that his shop tuned (built the whole car too) custom made headers by his shop, 4k stall converter, custom tuned trans, all the data-logging accessories, 10 point cage, built 8.8 with 4.56 gears, and all the suspension and chassis mods to accomodate a drag car. he also maxed out what the stock long block can handle.

In short, if you would have actually read what was said to the end of that argument, we want to know how YOU could build this monster 9 second flat motor and make it do sevens for $200. anything can be made to go fast with enough money, but YOU seem so keen on building it for uber cheap and get great gas mileage, so tell us, how YOU are going to do it.

and yes he probably has close to $20k in that build. (I'm gonna guess at $13k for parts and if he had a shop tune it and install the parts, suspension and cage probably another $5k or so.)

(or you can avoid the question again and continue to bitch on about how capable the pos 4.6L is)

Well that's a different fuel alternative. Your Z apparently is consuming birds for fuel now. Good Job on going green!

I had a bat hit me in the knee doing about 120mph on my bike. Damned thought I broke my knee cap. Just some blood, had to super glue it back together.
