Well guys... The Z is dead...

Yep, you guys read the title correctly. My Z is dead. After 9.5 years of owning it thanks to road conditions the state of wyoming made it try to wrestle a big rig. I was driving down the interstate and I passed a big rig. He was doing 65-ish, and I was doing 70. Right as I pass him a patch of black ice pop out of nowhere, the roads were clear for about 8 miles, and it kicked the back end out and put me right in front of the big rig and it t boned me. Luckily I didn't roll but I almost did. I wasn't hurt. Not a scratch on me luckily. It was some pretty freaky stuff.

Thats shockingly in amazing shape for getting T-boned by a big rig! Glad to see your alright tho!

I don't think that Z it dead just yet. Just one hell of a battle wound! If the unibody isn't warped you can get new panels and a door no prob

The unibody needed alot of work and I have a nice crinkle in the shock tower. I'm stripping this one down. I have my eye on another in much better condition. I can use the motor from this to get my fairlady Z running so The Z will live on.

well glad your ok, but that really doesnt look that bad at all. i bet a few hours at a frame shop, coupla new fenders and a door and your car would be fine. all you would have to pay for is the frame shop time. do the fenders and door yourself. prolly 300-600 to fix.

Well it needed a ton of rust repair in the first place. The unibody was rusted as hell so the accident really did a number on it. It'll be cheapest to get this other z i was looking at. It's in much better condition. What really sucks is I bought those fenders in 2008 so they are still fairly new. I still have $1200 in performance parts waiting to go on a new Z.

Yikes!!!

I had to drive I-80 in Wyoming during a crazy blizzard a while back... that was a nightmare.

Losing a Z makes ya cry a lil... < sound the taps >

Z don't look so bad considering what happened. Maybe she can be revived.

Nismo, after you cued taps I even stood up and lowered my head. lol No Snow it never got creamed by a tire luckily. That would be pretty unfortunate. lol Appreciate the concern everyone. I'm not going to salvage it though. I've decided I'm going to make it a donor car for my Fairlady Z.
