Well I got the car finally. The temp guage doesn't work right; it moves a little bit but doesn't go any farther. There is no way of telling if i'm overheating etc. Anyone know the solution, or what to check? Also cruise control doesn't work any ideas? Thanks for any help i'm more worried about the guage.

 

I had the same problem when i first bought my z. In my case, the previous owner had removed the thermostat. I have no idea why...but I put a new one in and it works fine. Check your wires and such, and check to see if someone has tried putting a resistor in the wire. No idea about the cruise control.

 

Check the lead from the temp sensor. If some of the individual strands are broken you'll get low/incorrect readings. Too many possibilities for the cruise control for my level of tech skills. Good luck.

 

The cruise is probally the rubber button on the brake pedal. Check that we have dicussed this on other post here recently.

 

New question now- My car seems to have trouble starting up the first time i start it every day, it sort of starts then dies immediately. After about 3 times it starts and runs fine. If i stop and then start it up again after its been running it starts fine. Any suggestions? its kind of embarassing sometimes.

P.S.The cruise control works now, it was just the little bumper on the clutch pedal. The temperature guage i think might be accurate and maybe just needs a new thermostat due to overcooling.
