New 280zx owner
Hey Everyone!
I am new to the 280zx community. I have just recently bought 2 datsuns that have been sitting in a farmers field for years. My first goal is to try to get them started. As far as I know, they were working when they were parked. The sad thing is people have stolen parts off both cars. See the pictures to see what I mean.

Thanks. I am really excited. I am headed out to look at them again this weekend to have a closer look at them. I am not sure if I should try to straight up start it or not. I feel like i should not because the gas has been sitting for years. I was thinking of trying to turn the engine by the crank bolt, so I can see if the engine is seized. What would be the steps I should take to try to start the cars?
They are my girlfriend's grandma's cars. It was the grandpa's, but he passed away. The grandma will most likely let me do whatever I want with them. I would like to get at least 1 in running, road worthy condition. That would be sweet.
I need a place to work on them. I was thinking of trailering both of them back to the city. Her grandma's house is right beside hers and the grandma lives with her. So no one is using the garage. But it is full of stuff that the grandpa owned. I would need to clean them out first before I bring them into the city.

So here is an update.
I went out with a friend to try to see what we could do. On the silver/blue one, the ignition switch was stuck at the "lock" position. We were unable to get it to turn. We got the red one to crank but it would not start, which was no surprise to me. I just picked up a siphon and some starter fluid. I am going to take the old gas out, and put some premium in. We accidentally put the key in the red one into the lock position and it got suck. Crap.
We looked more into the silver/blue one and found that there is a set of taillights, rear window louvers, headlights, headlight bezels, some wheel well plastic pieces, and some other things.
