1973 240z datsun. thats a fairlady right? second owner
ive always been in awe at the looks of the old z's and do not know much about them, yet. This one i picked up has sat for about 5 years. they were having problems with the fuel or something along thos lines. Im pretty much starting with a car that does not run but can run. the mileage is 51095 . I was going to start with dropping the tank, cleaning that out, checking to see if i need new fuel lines, maybe new fuel pump. then go to plugs, wires, cap and rotor, air filter, oil, tranz fluid, possibly an alternator, and i had a question about the oil pump. i assume its a manual pump? so i would need to prime it before i try to start it. also was going to squirt a little oil down the spark plug tubes before starting it too. this car came with a smog pump but has been unhooked not removed so thats gonna be taken out completely. I do know some things about cars. i also own a 93 honda accord with a 97 accord sir engine in it. my main goal for now it so get it running. then i was going to look into a different engine all together. maybe one of the newer 240 engines. not real sure what the popular swapable engine is for it the sr20? or was it rb? something? anyways swap that in for a while and rebuild the orginal engine mostly stock and maybe upgrade simple things to it in the mean time. im super excited for this car and hope to keep an old car alive for the rest of my life. now here are some pictures.

Great find! Looks like an original unmolested car. A '73 is worth a lot more in original condition. With a swap you will never get your money out of it. An Rb swap and drive line upgrade will cost you 5-10k if you do all the work. You can make 250 hp out of the original engine and you will have a really nice driver. JMO
