Heater control valve

I have a 1982 280ZX that needs a new heater control valve. It origionallt called for part #27116-P7100 but was redesigned and now goes by part #27116-P6500. What I want to know is what modifications and / or changes need to be made as the two parts are not very similiar?

Do you have auto or manual climate controls?

I know one of the valves had a thermo coil that ran to the heater core box, and later replacement versions didn't include it (no side effects).

Discussed here:

It is a manual. The old one has the coil. The new one does not. My question is what needs to modified to make the newer version fit and work properly.
