Hey wolf,

First of all great job with the car...second you have inspired me and it just so happens that there is a 240 near my house goin for 500 OBO... He said the head was just replaced and some other stuff was replaced but the electrical was messed up (something with the fuse box front right engine compartment). I was wondering what you think i should do. The car reminds me a lot of your car when you got it and ive seen what you have done.
SO, with that i was also wondering about how much money and time you have spent on the project so far...

thank you,

Rob

Sigh.....Time to break down the motor.....if you overheat a 2.8 does it ever just blow the head gasket or does it warp the head usually/always?

From my experience in overheating the 2.8's. Usually you warp, and or crack the head. That was usually my luck. To be safe, I would take the head to a machine shop, and have it checked out. To see if it is warped and such. Then you will know. And if you luck out, and the head is fine. You are only out a head gasket, and a few hours labor. But if it is bad, either you get another head. Or have your current one repaired.

Also it is vitally important, to make sure your cooling system is in perfect working order. I have learned the hard way more than once. Make sure your temperature gauge is always working correctly. And when you see it sweep over to the right. Pull over, and shut the car off immediately.

Anyway, sorry to hear about your dilemma. Good luck, and keep us posted.
