Just bought '77 280z!!
is that a replacement for the stock grille? if so where did you find it and do they make it for the 77 z?
p.s. i think you should do the second setup just ditch the wing. it gives it a lot cleaner look.

Saw it in some forum post somewhere, something about it being made in the '70's to fill the hole left by the bumper, it would go below the stock grille i think. I am looking for one too, will post if i find it.
Not sure how leaving the side markers, bumpers, badges and adding a spoiler could be considered "cleaner" then the clean look you get without em all. I know the Z needs front spoilers over 100mph but most my speeding is 0-60mph since i live in a big metro area so lighter will be faster and better handling at lower speeds.

Finally got the body work out of the way......then had no money for a good paint job or any paint job at all.......so i had to use the old cheapo stand-by....the rattle-cans......yes i know she deserves better and when i have the cash , she'll get a real paint job.
So i went with 2 coats primer, 2 coats flat red, 2 coats gloss enamel, wet sand w/ 600grit, one more coat gloss red, then a clear coat. Will wet sand w/ 2000g when the gloss dries (after 1 more clear coat) total cost about $40-$60
The shaved side markers came out ok, put the front cross piece back on and the rear bumper back on for now.

Mesh Grill
The grill that you posted was off a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) Fairlady Z instead of the striaght bar grill like we got in the U.S. See this thread at Classic Zcar Club:

There is one on ebay right now with a Buy-It-Now of $168.62
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...item=2460872037
It's not cheap, but I hear there are still a few places that stock them, like Midwest Z and www.nismo.com maybe. Still, might take away from the money you're saving for a paint job.
