Just bought a 1976 280Z. Got Questions

My is name Vincent I just got this car. I have some questions. The car hasn't been run in a long time, I fired it up on ether just to make sure it starts I'm thinking that I should drop the fuel tank clean it and flush the fuel system. I'm also thinking I should replace the injectors and do a full tune up. Is there a published tutorial for flushing the fuel system? What else should I be thinking about, and what is the best part source? Thanks!

telling what car you are asking about would get you better answers. All Z's are not the same

Trying to remove gas tank

I'm trying to remove the gas tank on a 76 280z. Is there a trick to getting to the lines located on top of the tank? I've got everything removed nd the tank is hanging, but I can't get to those two lines to remove them. Thanks

Fuel Pump, pumps, Wont stay running

1976 280Z
I removed my tank and had it cleaned. Before reinstalling it, I ran a line into a clean can of gas, and to the fuel pump. The pump is pumping, And the car fires on ether, but will not stay running. How can I test to see if the fuel is getting to the fuel injectors?

Thanks

Pull the fuel line after the fuel filter and look.

Have you verified fuel pressure? Have you verified the injectors are firing? Have you downloaded the FSM and Fuel Injection Bible from XenonS30

76 280z crank, no start

Replaced injectors, and removed tank and had it cleaned. After injectors replaced, I started the car using a coffee can full of gas, instead of the fuel tank. I then installed the tank, and also installed a fuel filter between the tank and the fuel pump. Now it won't start. I disconnected the fuel line at the rail, and it is getting fuel to the injector rail. I pulled 3 plugs and all three get spark. I've tried starting fluid, it won't start. I know all I'm supposed to need is fuel spark, and air. I believe I've got all three. Any suggestions?

I assume you mean you dropped the fuel pump pick up hose into the can?

Check the fuel pressure.

Sounds to me like you either have a dying fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, or have the fuel tank in & out lines backwards.
