Hey there guys, I'm a new member... wanted to introduce myself first, I own decalservice.com and have been an avid fan of 280z for quite some time, but haven't owned one in a few years.
This car I picked up is CHERRY. has 60k original miles, but obviously needs this and that since it has been sitting in a garage so long.
Aside from changing the gas tank and fuel pump, what else do you guys see that typically goes bad in these cars in that time, that causes a no-start issue?
I am getting spark. It starts with starting fluid for a few seconds. Just want to know what you guys would reccomend to start looking at..
Thanks a million...

Welcome to ZDriver!
I imagine the fuel injectors are gummed up from old fuel evaporating & leaving gunk in them... and throughout the fuel system.
Have you checked the fuel pressure?
Have you checked the fuel injectors for spray?
Hopefully you added some oil in each spark plug hole before starting the car... that would suck to scrape up the cylinder wall if you didn't...

Thank you!
I think the auctioneers already attempted a startup, so I'm afraid the cylinder walls have already been started dry. It's a shame, but eh. I'll get to checking the pressure today, but I know that the pump is currently defunct. Need to check relay, fuse and finally the pump herself. I'm guessing in 23 years, the gas is BOUND to get gummy.
Thanks for the hello, and I look forward to reciprocating in this online community!
