fuel pump question

so my fuel pump runs, but does not seem to push gas up through the line. just enough fumes or air to great bubbles but thats about it. does this mean the fuel pump is bad?

No, it means there is no fuel in the tank. Or you have the in & out lines at the tank on backwards.

Fuel Issue

ok so ive been having problems getting my 78 280z running. it just not getting fuel. so i tryed a different fuel pump, no change. checked to make sure lines werent switched around and they were good. pulled tank, sort of cleaned it best i could and blew out the lines. and still nothing. i can get fuel from the tank if i siphon it out of the outlet port. but it does not seem to stay flowing. i dunno if its suppose to do this or not. but it seems that im still not getting any fuel flow. so im out of ideas and could use some help on what to check next or anything else. i need to get this car up and running before the weather gets any worse so i dont have to keep riding my motorcycle 30mins+ to work during the winter. thanks in advance

Merged threads.

So... is the fuel pump priming? Is it getting power? Have you checked the fuel pressure regulator?

Is there spark at all 6 plugs? Are the injectors spraying? Is the ecu getting power?
