Cool fuel pump question

i'm working on a 77 280z, manual transmission, with a friend of mine. well, he just put a new starter in it, and converted it to fuel injection. from what he says, it starts great and everything, but when you put it in gear, and hit the gas, the engine bogs down tremendously. my hunch is, i think he has the old fuel pump still on there, and considering he did convert it from a carb. then the pump isn't shooting enough gas. i'll have to check next time i wor on it, but i do believe it needs a better pump. and information would be greatly appreciated, as we really want to get this car running.

The 77's had FI to start with. There should be an electric pump next to the fuel tank on the PS. If your converting back from carbs, then the ECU and other sensors are probably not hooked up correctly. You will need the Chilton or other repair book to track everything down.

You might also check to see if it has a catalytic converter if it was a California car. It could be clogged and would cause similar issue.

oh yeah, and thanks for the tips, i'll be sure to check everything, especially that catalytic converter. it would be crazy if it was from Cali, considering i'm all the way over here in Tenessee.
