There are two holes for 12mm bolts... thread them in lightly & the drum will back out.

Those holes are threaded? Must be to corroded to tell... I know there was holes for 280ZX disks but not S30 drums. huh, well I'm gonna work on it tomorrow morning, Already tried tapping on it with a rubber mallet, no luck, I'll try that drum removal info from the FSM and the link in the tech pages of Z driver. Still no clue after that then I'll use brute for to get it off

BTW, if I remove all of the California emissions junk Im not going to hurt anything am I? ECU wise that is

If you remove it all "correctly" it won't hurt anything. I take it it's not an N42 intake?

Yep its an N42 with a soon to be deleted, EGR.

Uh does anyone have a spare EFI fuel pump mount for a 280Z? Mines missing...

Anyways, I got the right pump installed and I just bypassed the fuel pump wiring to the unused toggle switch in the dash. Now its getting fuel and trying to start but it doesn't want to, I can smell the really old gas being burned tho so I think thats my problem...

Ok this is odd... I got it to run and run pretty good. I have the fuel pump currnetly hard wired througha switch I have, straight to the battery. now heres the thing

When I have the fuel pump on the car will turn over but not start, even with starting fluid, and it DOES Have a spark!
BUT When I turn off the fuel pump the car will start and run for around 30seconds to a min WITH THE PUMP OFF.

And Yes I've already checked to see if I have the switch backwords, it is now, as when the pump is off, I cant hear it, and when its on, you can

Ok I started messing with the fuel pump relays to get the old wiring working (I think that might be part of my problem) And Im working on checking the fuel pump control relay and I unhook it to double check it and when I re-hook it, The engine starts turning over by itself!

What the hell is going on..... @.@ Im so confused...
Can someone tell me what relay is what on a 78 280Z? The FSM Says the one I was working on isnt related to the starting system... Unless I somehow managed to turn around the connector and by pass the start switch in the ignition but I didnt put it on backwards!

Ok found out a few wires have been jumped, and the second relay (4 prong) is clicking, but not working... I REALLY dont feel like spending $98 on a damn relay...

Would it be a bad idea if I bypassed the secondary relay, and just used the control relay to work the fuel pump? Any ideas please?

Ok a bit OT but I need to figure it out, ATM none of my dash lights work at all and my tail lights dont light up at all, Headlights, turn signals, side marker lights all still work. No bad fuses I already checked.

Somewhere I read that the problem lies in the dimmer switch. Does any one know?

Also I searched, but only came up with 280ZX and Z31s with the same problem

Ok shouldn't all 4 wires on the top of that box have power to them when the light are all on?

Off- 1 Wire with power
On first- Same wire with power, no others
2nd Click- Red wire has power along with the first one.

Im thinking that means the switch is bad... Or am I missing something? Please help I want to get this thing Inspected here soon so I can drive it around before winter hits

OK, I'm installing the relay box from my 83 280ZX To have a relay system for the dash/tail lights, Headlight high and low, and to have a starter relay (that annoying click drives me up a wall when the battery is partly discharged.

I also removed the nonworking factory AC system, and next Im gonna remove the cat and The adjust the Valves and the car would be fine.

I wish I could just unplug the one from my 280ZX 2+2 Sense it has the fuel pump control relay and everything the 280Z has but in a relay box not a huge metal brick...
