Fuel pump not priming & ECU interpretation
Hi all,
My '89 Z31 Californian had been running fine, however over the weekend decided to conk out while idling at a set of lights and has refused to start since.
The issue I suspect is Fuel Pump related as when turning ignition to On I'm not hearing the familiar short buzzing sound which I believe is normally an indicator of the fuel pump initialising/priming. The car trys to crank, but cannot start as I suspect no fuel is being supplied.
As all power in the car appears OK (lights/indicators etc) I do not believe this is fuse related.
I also tried self-diagnosing the issue via the ECU indicator lamps but cannot make heads or tails out of the light sequences as to whether an issue code is being presented, I took a short video if anyone with expertise can assist interpretting the code? (I'm trying to reference the codes list for '89 @ http://xenonzcar.com/z31/ECUcodes.html).
Video of ECU diagnostic output: https://youtu.be/rd4yLHPpYQg
Would love to hear any opinion of ECU output or if anyone has had a similar issue they solved where the fuel pump doesn't appear to be initialising when turning ignition to on?

if it has 2 gal. of fuel it should pump , the fuel pump motor sets in the fuel .
1st thing is a fuel flow /pressure test not hard to do but not really for a novice either ( not saying you are , just it can be dangerous if done incorrectly )
refer to the manual you can check if you have a complete circuit to the pump when cranking
I'm dealing with a rusty tank /inop fuel pump too.

Either no power is getting to the fuel pump, or the fuel pump is toast. Break out a multimeter or test light, test for power when ignition is turned on. If no power, check relay, check fuel pump ground. If power, replace fuel pump.

I'll have a read of the manual regarding circuit check and see if it offers any hints.

Getting the feeling fuel pump might be toast but will see if I can pickup a cheap multi-meter and at least confirm suspicion before I go down replacement path.
