Rear end Noise

OK heres whats going on. The previous owner had the stock r200 go bad on him and he had a r180 sittin around so he stuck that in there .. He mentioned something about its rubbing on the body somewhere and it just needs a spacer installed. It makes noise .. noticabe at 40 loud at 60. The way he described it there is a plate under the carpet that needs to be pulled out and i will understand exactly whats going on .. anyone know what he means .. Im pullin a dummy card on this one .. im lost. i think i found the plate but i cant get up .. and i cant find anything in the service manual .. ADVICE PLEASE

Perhaps you could be a bit more specific about the "noise" ? What does the noise sound like?

alright i suppose i should have been more descriptive. its like a fine grinding sound.. not like a bearing and not rear end wine. he thought that something may be grinding on the body... that #1 in the diagram is the place under the carpet.

so from what i understand the rubber spacer or bushing whatever you want to call it #11 is not installed because it is not the same on the r180 is that correct ?

yeah he prolly never installed the correct #11 part. the #1 part can also be turned around to swap its position for the different diff combos. or he never installed #6. only one way to tell is crawl underneath and take some pix
