... That I haven't had to put gas in my Z since the middle of August?

Ummm, I don't drive it much lately.

it is always good to make sure you use your gas within 2 mo-6 at latest--the smell of varnish in fuel fittings is too late to prevent.

i got my info from a chemengineer who sold additives to the oil refineries---kinda a smart person.

i have noticed that when i do not listen to this advice, i have to have fuel lines on my outboards rebuilt and fuel system cleaned before i can use the engine.------it's not the burning, it's the damage it causes down the road.

I finally drove it enough to where I had to put gas in it.

Not too bad... I got 4 months out of a tank of gas.

Try changing the fuel filter before you do ANYTHING else. You might have just knocked a chunk of something loose when you gassed it up. You might have gotten crappy gas too. Buy a bottle of LUCAS fuel system cleaner/additive and dump it in the tank.
