So I was under the hood today and was checking all my air lines because ive got a slight high idle issue. i was checking by the head light and saw this line that popped out of this:

So I plugged the line all the way in but no change. Then I discovered theres a connector that comes from that^^^ device and it was unplugged.

So I plugged that in and I started hearing this noise that sounded like an air pump coming from the bottom of the head light. It was an air pump and it was venting air in to the atmosphere. What is this device??..what does it do??..would this be causing my idle issue??..

 

it's a vaccum pump it helps control your climate control etc. look it up in the fsm.
