BigBirdsZ 12-07-2006 08:59 PM

naw but since it just sittin there might as well turbo it........

z-hag 12-07-2006 10:39 PM

i hope you stabilize your gas. it becomes crappy in less than 3 months--smells like varnish and everything

SHADY280 12-08-2006 07:13 PM

94 octane dont go bad! well doesnt seem to, kinda like liquor. and i start it up and let it warm up to hear the motor, and to use gas, then refill it all the time

z-hag 12-09-2006 09:22 AM

94 octane takes 6 months to go bad--leaded?

bardabe 12-09-2006 10:40 AM

nop unleaded. I didn;t put gas i my Z32 for like 7 months. and it fired irght up whenver i turned the key. (exept after the motor was gone)

z-hag 12-09-2006 06:50 PM

it is always good to make sure you use your gas within 2 mo-6 at latest--the smell of varnish in fuel fittings is too late to prevent.

i got my info from a chemengineer who sold additives to the oil refineries---kinda a smart person.

i have noticed that when i do not listen to this advice, i have to have fuel lines on my outboards rebuilt and fuel system cleaned before i can use the engine.------it's not the burning, it's the damage it causes down the road.

RodMoyes 12-14-2006 09:36 PM

I finally drove it enough to where I had to put gas in it.

Not too bad... I got 4 months out of a tank of gas. :)

i just filled my slicky 86 NA with 91 octane and drove to coronado----got to coronado , off the vbridge turn onto my exit--heard a really loud tappet-like noise--frequency and rhythm of tappet--mita been valve noise--checked the oil--ok; checked the oil pressure--ok------put gas, just a hair--spinning bearing-type noise-----so,m how can i get the gas outa da dam Z tank???????

skittle 12-15-2006 03:41 PM

Get A Huge Container And Just Use The Pump To Pump Out The Fuel Into The Container... Long Time To Wait And Make Sure Its Grounded We Don't Need No More Z's On Fire.. Unless They Are Wrecked's

z-hag 12-16-2006 07:54 AM

good idea, thanx--i have extra fire extinguishers, so .............

RodMoyes 12-16-2006 09:33 AM

Try changing the fuel filter before you do ANYTHING else. You might have just knocked a chunk of something loose when you gassed it up. You might have gotten crappy gas too. Buy a bottle of LUCAS fuel system cleaner/additive and dump it in the tank.

i have had a "feeling" about the car for a while--i refused to allow my friend to take her back to concord when he left--i made him take the 86 turbo--so i do believe the piglet is now our designated save everybody cannibal's blue plate special.

feb. 3. tidelands park unless i find a better place to destroya z31.
