It shoudnt sound rice at all (I guess thats what raspy means). Generally when a car sounds ricey, or sounds like there is a weed-wacker going down the street. It is mostly due to a low compression ratio, lets say 8.5-1, the reason for such a low compression ratio is to accomidate a better set up for a turbo, that is why you hear so many annoying civics, accords, del sols, eclipses, so on and so forth. But a Z for example, has a pretty good compression ratio, so NO it shouldnt sound to bad, nice and deep probably.

my 300z N/A has APEXi N1 style exhaust, has a deep low tone, those should not sound like lawnmower fart cannons.

Yeah basically it will sound like a F360 Modena, nice and deep. I wouldnt recommend gutted cataylist on this set-up (nor any set-up for that matter), If you do it will become almost rice sounding, and VERY, VERY annoying. peace
