Terrible luck with online shopping.

I just have not had any luck at all recently with online shopping.

1) I bought some stuff from Courtesy Parts in preparation for my upcoming plenum pull. I got all my packages in a timely manner. Too bad some parts were the wrong part number and other parts were missing all together. I called them and now I am waiting on the correct parts to be sent.
2) I ordered a steel 1-piece driveshaft from Z1 Motorsports. I got my driveshaft in excellent shape but my mounting bolts were missing. I called them and had them send me the bolts.
3) Just as I receive my mounting bolts in the mail for my 1-piece driveshaft I realize it is an M/T driveshaft. I specified an A/T driveshaft when I placed my order. Now they are making my new driveshaft and I have to send the other one back.
4) My AshSPEC intercoolers arrived with damaged inlets/outlets. They were all sots of bent. After a few e-mails to Ash, he gave me enough tips to fix them with no problems. They look great now. Too bad I was still waiting on the coupler kit. (see my other post for that update)
5) I ordered a 300 Degree Brake Master Cylinder Brace from Coz at Concept Z Performance. It arrives in a timely manner only for me to find out it only fits a LHD Z32. I own a RHD Z32!
6) I re-order an adjustable bracket from Coz but it cost me $50. We were testing it on a RHD Z32. I got it in a timely manner only to find out...you guessed it...it doesn't work on a RHD Z32. Now I need to send it back and get a refund for it.

I am so sick of ordering online. It's great being in Japan and owning a JDM Z but there are times I wish I could just drive to the nearest shop and get whatever I desire. The Z32 is not popular to modify out here so there isn't much for it. What is available is very expensive. Okay, that was my rant. I just had to let it all out.

And i feel you on ordering parts online been many times i get the wrong part pay shipping and wait it sucks. But we do live in the internet world and thats the way it's gonna be what can you do. BUt on the flip side i guess im lucky Yugo Bernie lives 10 miles from my house

cough...Reality check. Forcedfed... why aren't you driving a Corvette, Porsche, Lambo, or a Geo Metro?

When did a Skyline come into the picture?

What are you talking about? "The Z32 is not popular to modify out here so there isn't much for it" "What is available is very expensive". Did you have your glasses on buddie? Lets see a car with more parts avaliable parts, a car that people in the states would kill to have, could sell it in the states when he gets back for a profit. Anyone with a financial brain could figure that one out. But hey if a z is what he wants then so be it. But im sure anyone with some common sense would agree with me.

der... so anyone that works on a project that requires more expensive parts, should ditch that project and go to a cheaper one?

And did your wonderful lil brain think about getting the car legal in the USA? You can't just bring a Skyline over & start driving it. That's why Motorex was in business.

It's always best to tell someone "Hey moron! Why did you even try to modify this car, when you could have done it easier on that car" AFTER they've done all the work. **Note my sarcasm**

Cuz really... why would he want to be different & have a more rare (300zx) than a less rare (Skyline) in Japan???

My bloody point.... DON'T SAY "HEY MORON!!! YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN MODIFYING A SKYLINE" AFTER HE HAS HAD ALL THESE PROBS GETTING Z32 PARTS. ... ARE WE IN JUNIOR HIGH AGAIN?

EDIT... Sorry... not trying to be an *** here...

I see where your coming from but i didnt mean it that way by all means. He has a nice Z and puts alot of time and money in it.

Basically if i knew i was going to japan and having to pay high dollar for shipping and some parts being RHD and LFD, more parts for the Z in the US, and bringing it back to the states when i return.

I guess i just think differentially thats just what i would have done. No offense givin nor taken i was just giving my opinion.

/rant on.

lets not forget that the Z also looks about 1000 times better than the skyline. i prefer sexy curves over a box. just because a bunch of kids have raging hardons for the skyline doesnt mean that it is that much better a car. i would rather have a Z than a skyline any day. yeah, the skyline has a bit more performance, but, like everything else in the world, it all has to do with personal prefrerence. no need to attack someone and call them an idiot because they didnt get the car YOU would get, thats just immature and stupid.

/rant off.

With ya there! Seems like where ever you go there is some kind of problem. Customer service is dead I'm convinced.

To tell you guys the truth, I'm burnt out on Skylines. Sure, the GT-R is a sexy beast but all the others are just family cars over here. Even my friend's R33 GT-R has a baby seat in the back. I love my Z. I think the Z32 looks way better than the Skyline. The Skyline GT-R will outperform the Z32 TT any day of the week but I am willing to give up that little bit of luxury to have my Z.

If I can't figure out a way to get my Z back to teh states though, I might sell her and pick up an R33 GT-R to bring back. Haven't made that decision final yet but it is a possibility.

Just put a handle from a suitcase on the roof and claim it as carry on.

I might run into a few problems trying to fit it into either the overhead compartment or under my seat though.

I was thinking about installing 2 electric fans on the back and a snorkel on the front. Maybe throw in a shot of NOS and use it as a submarine. Think I could sneak her past the Coast Guard and into my driveway in Florida?

Z1 Driveshaft

Anybody can screw up, But Z1 knows what they are doing. There are several variables that determine driveshaft length. When I bought mine I was lucky enough that I was having the turbos, ECU, entire wiring harness replaces, Urthane motormounts, and the one piece driveshaft replaced. The reason for the driveshaft replacement is becuase the center bearing is almost the price of the carrier bearing. Add in the labor to remove and install the bearing and that is more that their 1 piece driveshaft. I discussed over the phone the progress of the modifications and there seem to be several versions of driveshafts. Length, yoke length into the tranny, size of the yoke. My turbos were the worst headache because the had a strange case size for an automatic. They looke and looked and found only 1 to match and it took at least a weak to rebuild and blueprint the cores. That was one year ago and all seems great so far. They are very professional to work with and their technical knowledge is excellent. They will make sure you understand exactly what is going on. They almost messed my engine up by cutting a heater line and overheating my engine down the road. The owner stayed until 10 Sat. night to make sure no damage was done and everything was perfect. From my experience with Z1 motorsports I think they are an excellent company with a big future. I am going back soon to have 555 injectors installed. They also compete on prices with everybody, no matter who.
