Fuel Pump

I have a problem with my 85 NA. I started it up the engine shakes, runs choppy, when I go to excelrate it gets worse, then she stalls, could that be a fuel pump problem ? I drove it all day with no problems.

check your TPS and maf first if they check out ok for the most part. Buy a good ole can of fuel injection cleaner and maybe some octane booster. Try to keep track where you buy gas from and see if the problem comes back.

I agree with Navy in a way, but first when was the last time you changed the fuel filter? also if you recently washed the engine maybe you have water by the spark plugs and the wires could be bad. these cars being 20 years old, I recommend to drop the fuel tank and clean it as they build up sluge over the years.

Has it always done this? If not, was there something you did that might have changed it? Have you checked the timing? Have you checked ALL sensors & wiring connections to make sure they are seated right & free of corrosion?
