Death To The Mass Air !!!!!

Can someone please explain to me why you can have one mass air let you just idle and another not idle but let you go to redline ? Same car as last time (87 300zx turbo) with the funky compression and so forth. Has killer oil leaks, oil pan gasket is non-existent and turbo return was a slacked job. Put the intake mani back to near stock jost about everything is hooked up except IACV and PCV valve. I'm going to hook those back up and see how much further I get in the mean time I'll try not to burn this damn car to the ground. The good news is it starts by the key and fuel pump works consistently .

My 85, they just found a leak in the bell part of the tranny, and now The car cranks but won't run. I love my Z sooooo much, but I hate mass transit LOL . Expect when you buy a Z31 or a Z32 to have some things replaced. My Z is almost a daily driver here in Sunny hot south Florida. I already invested 3000 bucks into it, but thats the breaks of owning a classic car, could be worse, my stepfather owns an 82 Corvette which he has 31,000 miles. He had to put 8,000 into it with rubber seals and all.
