New to Forum
Hi, just signed up on this forum. I have a 1988 300ZX 2+2 (I am the original and only owner) with I'd say about 275K miles on it and a 2003 350Z with 26K miles, along with 5 other various cars and a Harley.
My 300ZX has been parked in my Mom's garage in Virginia for about 4 years. The engine starts and runs strong but even though the brakes pads and calipers are in new condition the brakes are spongy and the pedal goes all the way to the floor. I tried bleeding them but they don't ever pump up. I replaced the power booster and master cylinder and that didn't help either. Is there a trick to bleeding the air from this system? The other thing that stopped working in this car is the odometer quit at 179K miles. Can't figure that out because the cable from the tranny is good.
Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to ZDriver!
Did you bleed the master First?
No tricks... just open one corner at a time, pump until you have a steady clean stream, then pump, hold, close, repeat a few times. A helping friend makes this process quick and easy.
So the speedometer still works, but the odometer doesn't? That's usually a broken / stuck / tampered with gear inside the speedo.

download fsm from xenon web site. they give you proper sequence of bleeding. if you don't have a buddy or a wife unit you will need to drop a hose from the bleed valve into a container with enough fluid in the bottom to cover the hose end. this prevents air suck back. if you have second pair of hand they can just shut off the bleed valve when runs clear. I find often using your hand to pump the pedal works best. clear hose is best for this. home depot or hardware should have it.
like nismo said if speedo works and odo not haunt junk yards to find a replacement. digi or analog dash?
