Question Help with rattling underneath glove box?

I just bought a 1985 300ZX Turbo a few weeks ago and this infernal rattling has been bothering me. It's not from the engine, and it only rattles when the ignition is switched to on. As far as I know, it's not part of the AC or heater because it shakes even when I have them turned off.

After looking around I believe I was able to locate it. If you look up underneath the glove box from the passenger seat, there is a whole array of wires, fans, and tubes. I found this small little black fan bolted with two screws to the top. When I held it still, it still made the sound.

I'm certain that it needs to be replaced in order to stop its maniacal deeds. If it's not super important, I'll just unplug it, but I'm not sure. I snagged some pictures of it.

I'd like an explanation of what it is, what its called, if its important, and where I can buy one and how much a replacement would be.

-Thanks

I've had the same problem when I would hit full throttle and that little fan would turn on. Once I did my engine swap along with the ecu, it went away.

Part of the climate control system. You have an automatic controls, right? It's a temp sensor. One of several positioned throughout the car.

I looked into it more and I found that it was a temperature sensor. Pretty certain it needs to be replaced, can't figure out how to fix it. Any idea where I can get parts? Know what its called/part number?
