glove box

my glove box wont close and i was wondering what the best way to get to the latch mechanism is. when i pull the handle the little latch thing doesnt do anything. so i was wondering if i need to take the whole glove box out or just the trim on the out side

ok i got the damn thing apart it took me forever because you have to use a really stubby screwdrive to get almost all of the screws out esp. the ones towards the back to get the trim off and the fact that i have huge hands doesnt help. i ended up taking all of the screws out but two at the very back. it wanst that bad get the latch out after that.

my glove box would not close completely and would rattle. I replaced the entire mechanism...I agree ..the screws are a pain to get to...but it is sure nice to have the glove box close properly. I ordered the parts directly throught a Nissan dealership.

how much did it cost you?
was it less expensive than Courtesy?

hahahaha thats crazy cuz when i first bought my z, the glove box wouldn't close either and the latch wouldn't move when i pulled the handle..haha well i just bought a whole new glove box for 50 bucks..it is really hard to find a z in a junk yard especially with interior parts that are intact and clean..but i guess it was just my lucky day..but i thought it was weird that the same think happened to you guys..good luck!!!
