Anyone ever got this problem?
Ok, you know how the gas tank lid is operated from inside the car, right? Well, that little !@# black plastic tab that holds the lid shut is broke clean off on my 87t. I was not able to find info in the haynes manual, or the factory service manual about how to pull this little sob out and replace it. The guys at Nissan don't have a clue. Any suggestions? Anyone know where it might be in the manual? Thanks are offered in advance.......

I can help you out
All you have to do;
1. open the hatch. 2.remove panel hiding the spare tire.
3. remove spare tire. 4. now you should see a black cable
going towards the top of the fender well, this is your "SOB".
5. to remove the cable: just use your fingers to push on the
retainer tabs, and push towards your gas-cap. there you
have it. I you have any problems, e-mail me.

yeah, the spare tire is on the other side of the car and when you take the interior panel off the side that does have the lid, there is a wall of metal in the way........

No Dave you're right. Nothing is different body wise from the 84-89 in that respect. The spare tire is still on the passenger side. The gas tank door is still on the passenger side. That little thing is still on the passenger side. I don't think Ghostz understood what you were trying to tell him.

You can get a new cable from eBay for around $15...this guy from CA sells them all the time. Just put in this item # (2424675761) on eBay Motors. I ordered one for my 87 na to fix the same problem. I have an extra rear hatch cable if you need that too for the same price.
