About to get my first Z
About to get my first Z
Found a nice 85 Z turbo to get, only thing that doesn't work is the AC. Owner said he pulled out the compressor and everything else is still there and lines are just capped off. Heat works good and blows from all vents. My question is this, could this really be as simple as buying a new compressor, hooking it up, then just check the system for leaks under vacuum, and then recharge with R134? Have a decent idea of how things work, but still definitely a newbie to all of this. Thanks for the input for the AC system. I've been trying to read up on articles of it, but figured I'd throw out my specific question here. Thanks
The a/c oil is different on 134a freon, it is best to change the dryer and use a a/c flush cleaner when converting it over . I just used cleaner on my old truck and had no problems though
I would suck it down then look for leaks

Yes, i'm thinking and also hoping that all i need to do is buy a new compressor and drier, then take it to a shop and have them vacuum it and check for leaks...assuming there are none then hopefully just recharging the system and it will work.
