'88 300zx Heat/AC issues

Hi, I'm new here so please any help would be appreciated. I have a strange problem here. When car is idleing and A/C is on it blows cold air fine thru the dash vents. When accelerating it then starts blowing heat thru the defroster and dash vents. Then when I come to a stop light it will return to blowing cold thru the dash vents. I have changed all the vacuum lines I coud find in the engine compartment but not the ones going thru the firewall. Any Ideas????

Try replacing the carbon canister mounted on the core support behind the pass side headlight.

Last time I checked, the carbon canister is for emissions control, not vent control.

I think you meant the vacuum tank?

So do you think the vacuum tank could be causing my issue? I have replaced all the hoses going to it and still have the same problem.

It's probably leaking fuel injectors and a fire waiting to happen. STOP driving it, and fix it before it burns up the entire engine compartment.

I was reading a post somewhere in here about a recall on fuel injectors. I have an 86' non turbo, would I be able to get a freeby?

You can try. Many dealers refuse to do it but if you are persistant, you may be able to find a dealer that will still do it.
