Where to shop.

I just got my first Z and I'm wondering where the best place to find parts is. Engine parts seem fairly easy to get through the usual parts stores. But for exterior and interior are there any good sites or will I be searching junkyards?

Welcome to Zdriver man. And congrats on your first Z! And it looks to be an '82 or '83. It is n/a or turbo? Also is it a 2 seater coupe, or a 2 + 2?

As for exterior parts you have blackdragonauto.com, and thezstore.com. Also probably the dealer. Then craigslist.org, ebay.com, and other Z forums.

As for interior pretty much just looking around on the internet, and or the mentioned sites, or junkyards. Hope that helps, and good luck.

Thanks for the help. I'd already been looking on Craigslist, but around here haven't found many parts. There's a good number of people selling entire Z's though. And mine is an 82 280ZX, N/A, 2-seater. I posted an album of pics of the interior and exterior as they stand now. I'll post more as the work gets done.

Louvers? As in rear window louvers? Hopefully not... they are a waste of $$$.

sometimes cheaper to buy a junker for 500 then scrap the remainder.

A good parts car is probably the best option if you have the space. I got an 82 with good engine, tranny, steering, suspension, seats, and a bunch of other stuff for $300. Buying new parts will get expensive fast so if you find a good deal jump on it. There are a ton of S130s selling right now so craigslist is your friend.

I'm in Twentynine Palms. I WAS looking for a parts car, but the duelly truck is out of commision. Unfortunately that's the only way I have to tow anything right now. I'll resume the search once the truck is running again.
