Twin webber carbs vs factory fuel injection
Pulled my 260 engine today. The four speed is pretty much worthless. Now. In your opinion would the twin webbers be something to rebuild? Since the AMF/intake is a huge bottle neck my engine is a "P90" head . From what I've heard this is the desired head. Would this open up airflow and gain respectable power 20 horses or better to match the costs for the swap ? My 260 has a "E88" not yet sure if its a square port head or not? I'm planning on a mid level rehab on the car and like to put together a great N/A engine. Maybe a stroker. But I'm sure if I don't also pull the choke handle and cables the carbs are pretty much worthless. I have read a lot of posts on this question and everyone has their thoughts. I figure a lot of people swap to tripples. How about twins? Thanks

Sell the carbs and go fuel injected IMHO.
Depends on what you want. I've got a set of tripple Mikunis on my 240Z and I have no intention of changing it but I like the old school for that particular car - all the rest are EFI so I like the unique sound, etc of the tripples. Otherwise EFI is better in every regard.

I'm looking to "Perk" up the engine. Car has 32K original miles and my father was tender on the car. Do belive we have the original window sticker stateing it was $11,995. New so its in very clean and sound condition. Main issue he always had was it seemed "held back". I do have the E88 head. I have read into this and once again "pros and cons". So were going to get the interior going. Maybe a new stereo system since I placed "Lego's" in the cassette player when I was 8 and blew the speakers out during prom. So its all pretty ragged. You're not going to get much out of the NA unless you spend some money on it. That money is typically best spent on a turbo swap for the best bang for your buck. You're looking at $4K minimum for a stroker build unless you have some way of cutting down on machining/parts/labour costs. $750 is an average cost for a turbo swap depending on where you live, availability, etc.
