speed needle off

well gradually over the last month to six weeks my needle has started to develop a real wobble/tick as i drive at certain speeds, i also noticed about a week ago it's now over reading. Would this likely be a speedo, cable or speed sensor in the gearbox fault?

Had much the same problem...turned out to be a bad short speedo cable (the one from the speedo to the firewall)

lubricate the cable inners, you can pull out the lower from the bottom, but have to get under the dash to do the upper, or intermediate cable. when they bounce, thats the cable sticking to the sleeve. just some oil does it usually.

x3 on the speedo cable. Mine used to bounce at speeds below 20mph, I greased it w/ lithium spray & it went away. Then my car got towed home from Las Vegas and the tow guy ripped the speedo cable loose.
