Hi:

I searched the internet hi and low and could not find where I can purchase a breaker plate for my 1979 280zx distributor (cracked/seized; no timing advance)

Any ideas where I might be able to locate one?

I highly doubt anyone sells JUST the breaker plate. You can get a used dizzy from the junk yard for probably $10. New from AutoZone is $104.

Have you tried MSA? BDA? Nissan?

 

my parts store sells the wheel and stator, cheap too, better than a whole dizzy if your shaft is still tight. ask at napa or your other local places. wait your in vancouver, go to lordco

 

..there are lots of Datsun guys in Vancouver - both the Z car club and the 510 guys. Look them up and they should be able to help you out if you can't find one at Lordco.

 

This might be a little off the wall, but if your asking for a "breaker plate" for a distributor that doesn't have points, that may be why you can't find one...

 

Actually it does have a breaker plate. If I remember right its part of the vac advance? Or was it part of the mechanical advance? I dont remember but I know it has one.
