Exclamation is this resto possible?

i have my hands on a 280zx. its floor panels are rusted out the backend below the passenger side taillight is a rust spot from the light to the bumper and about 2 1/2 inchs long. it takes up the rear corner. when you open the passanger side door and look at the hinges where door meets body theres a hole about an inch wide and a few inchs long. its fenders are crimped to hell and need replacing around the passanger side rear window is a small amount of rust a few spots the size of nickles. and two spots in the ttops on each side roughly the size of pennies.

in january i start college i'm going to major in auto body restoration. i was hoping to use this 280zx as my project but now that i've had a chance to fully look her over i'm not sure what i'm gettin myself into.

i know i can handle all the simple rust but the spot inside the door lining is that even fixable?

Everything is fixable.... cut it out & replace it. I did the same thing you are planning to do. I went to auto collision repair at a tech college during high school & did most of the restoration work there. Are you going into auto COLLISION repair, or auto RESTORATION?

PS... IT IS A LOT OF WORK. A-FREAKING-LOT. AND IT'S GOING TO COST A-FREAKING-LOT. I have about $8k-$9k into my car's body restoration.

I went to collision repair school and loved it. we also did restore. you can take some pics and show them to your teacher. even though having the car in person is better pics can do some justice.if it can be done what do you have to lose. just make sure you do the work or someone you trust to do the work.
