Order up for oil pan!

Order up for oil pan!
Let me start off by saying WOW! Going from a Corvette to working on a Z well there is not as near as much space!
Anyway, I was going to move the oil pan out tonight because it leaks oil pretty bad, so I worked on all the bolts for about 2 hours, get the the point of removal and if the damn clutch isn't in the way!
Well every car I've owned/worked on up until now has been an automatic, for me to remove the oil pan so I can replace the gasket looks as though I need to take the clutch out! To me it looks like there are four bolts holding it in.
I am going to read up on clutch removal but let me hear from you guys.
Is it easy or should I let a transmission place take care of the rest?
Even if I get the clutch out will it be enough to take the oil pan out!
You tell me!
Thank you,

Shouldnt have to take the clutch out, I know you have to take the torque brackets (or what ever the tech word for them is) off. They are the L shaped brackets attaching the bell housing to the block. Now your only problem is how to get the oil pan to clear the pick up strainer when you take it off. I usally have the engine on the stand when I do a pan but I think you can support the motor with a cherry picker then I would lossen the motor mounts then drop the cross member enough to get the clearance I need then work that pan out of there. It might be a good idea to replace the pick up strainers gasket while your in there, if it starts pulling air you wont be able to build oil pressure up. Any body else have a quicker way?

^^^ Indeed. You don't need to mess w/ the clutch.... you'd have to take out the tranny to get to the clutch anyway. Have you already done that?
Anyway ya look at it tho, removing the oil pan while the engine is still in the bay sucks. There are several bolts at the crossmember that are almost impossible to get to unless you have the engine mounts loosened and pull it up w/ a cherry picker. Or you could just do a quick engine yank, and replace all the major seals at the same time... then you can clean the engine too. Either way, tis a lot of work!
