Oil Pressure Sending Unit Install

Alright I installed a new Oil Pressure Sending Unit in my Z, it didn't come with any sort of crush washer or anything, I'm just wondering do you need some sort of washer or anything? Or will it be fine without one?

Well I guess if I find it's leaking I'll just have to back it out some and put a little bit of gasket maker on the threads and then tighten it back up.

You shouldn't be able to tighten it so ALL the threads are inside... Just use RTV or teflon shizm.

installing pressure transducer in Z

If you have a Single Wire Pressure Transducer, you
want to have the threads tight as it needs to conduct
electrical current through the engine chassis to complete
the transducers electrical path. otherwise you will not
see any engine oil pressure or it may be erratic.

If you have the two wire then you can probably use lock-
tight.

I have installed 3 different transducers and they worked
best when tight and connecting electrically.

I know this is an old thread but I was looking in my newer car and found a box that had an APC oil pressure sending unit with gauge. I would like to install it because my stock gauge is kaput. The issue I have is that the box did not come with instructions on how to install it. I see that it came with a clear tube but not sure on how it hooks up to the gauge. The gauge number is apc107163 if that helps at all.

Hey just a little heads up about the APC oil pressure i had one in my old civic, yes i do enjoy my honda's, anyways they can short out pretty easily and are not quality the install is not too difficult so long as you know where the sending unit goes cause it is just a matter of running the ground and power wires to the gauge, but you can call them for an instruction print out

I am trying to remember how i did it, I had some help and it was like 5 years ago. but if i remember correctly we took the sending unit and screwed it infront of the oil filter and then connected the wires up to the gauge, remember though i did this on a 97 civic so i am sure it is different for your situation but hopefully it will help
