Its located on the side of the block behind the oil filter.

You can get one here:

Don't buy the sending unit from anywhere but a Nissan dealer. I've never seen an auto parts store unit work worth a damn.

Hi, I called my local Nissan Dealer and they told me that the sending unit for the models with the digital dash is different from a non-digital dash model, they said it would cost over $300 for a new unit. If I had a regular dash they said it would cost $55, and I even called 2 different dealers to make sure...

Is this true that they're different?, and are you saying the Nissan dealer is the only place that sells good units? Thanks

(oops sorry didn't look at date of thread)

Damn. Price has seriously jumped in the last couple years on these things. Courtesy Parts is listing the GL as $255 and the GLL as $197.

Maybe a good time to give Pep Boys a call and take your chances.

After I got over the price shock for a new sending unit at the local Nissan dealership, I purchased a Beck Arnley replacement from Amazon. I cannot remember the model number. The box and unit were stamped "Made in Japan", and was a dead ringer for the OEM unit I took out including the correct harness connector. Readings are a very close match ot those I got with a manual gauge. I know nothing about this brand, but the cost was less than $40 before shipping. It may be crap, but I can replace it 3 or 4 times for the cost I was quoted by Nissan.
