Oil pressure sending unit, temperature sending unit

Where exactly is the oil pressure sending unit, and how hard is it to change out?
I have the same question for my outside temp sending unit. B\Both of them need to be replaced. Thanks

Oil Pressure sending unit is right by your oil filter. Easy change. Screw off old, screw in new.
By temp sending units, I'm assuming you mean coolant sending sensors. They are located in front of your timing covers. There are two. One reads to the ECU and the other to your temp gauge. Facing the car, the ECU sensor is on the left.
Check the wiring for the ECU unit. With time and heat it can get brittle. A relacement harrness for this snsor is only $15. Might consider changing that out as well.

Thanks for the info! I didnt describe the temp sensor very well that i was talking about though. I meant the ambient temperature sensor that reads out on the climate control. Know where that is?

Not sure I have a complete answer for you or not.
On the dash, passenger side. There is a little flat sensor that plugs right into the right side of the defrost vent. That is a sun-sensor. I know it is used for defrost but not sure if that is used to measure ambient temp as well. It may very well be.

The FSM would probably confirm or deny that.

There you go!
I knew the fan was in there, didn't know the sensor was there as well.
I'm all smarter today now.

fan keeps constant airflow over temp sensor so it can measure cabin temp.

What does the temperature outside of the car have to do with the temperature inside the car?
The only reason i would see for having a temp sensor outside the car would be to tell you what the temp outside is, and our cars don't do that.

I didnt say it had anything to do with the inside temp. And yes our cars do tell you the outside air temperature. It's displayed as the ambient read out on the climate control. The thing that says "AMB." Ambient is for outside temp. I know it has nothing to do with the temp inside. Unless you can tell me what the ambient read out is.

You know how your climate control has the digital read out? Like, you have your set temp, and it will digitally read out what temp you set it at? Well its the number right under your set temp. That is your ambient display. Maybe you dont have the digital climate control? How do I insert a picture so I can show you what i'm talking about?

go to Go Advanced in the quick reply section, there you can upload your pics via the Manage attachments function.
And i have a '93, i have the digital climate controls. Only some early 90's models had the manual controls.

The ambient temp sensor is fitted behind the front bumper or clip as you guys call them, it is a small black unit with a short section of cable on that is clipped to the air con dryer which looks like an upright silver canister along side the condensor.

Can post a picture if it helps?

Hope that helps.

Here is a picture of a UK spec zed with the bumper ( clip) removed, the circled connector is where the ambient air temp sensor connects to, the sensor itself is bolted to the back of the bumper ( clip) close to that same area with an 8 mm bolt.

Hope that helps

That's an affirmative. The SRS sensor is bolted to the bottom side of the bumper and plugs in to a clip located in that same place.
