What is the correct part number for the manifold gasket?

Nissan dealer shows 2 numbers, gave him vin# of my car, still he couldn't get the right number for sure.

14035-N3500

14035-P7100

anyone know?

Did he look it up in the computer system? All Nissan dealers should have parts schematics on their comps that would have pics / descriptions.... One might be turbo, one might be n/a. All you need is the round intake holes w/ injector tabs, and square (diamond) exhaust holes.

Thanks

Yep, he pulled it up alright, said it was available as a complete kit, all the gaskets for the engine, over 300 bucks...yikes!

So he and his boss tried. When they pull up the picture and click on the part itself it says not availabe, except in the complete kit.

However, when he trys another way, it list two different numbers for manifold gaskets for 280zx cars.

I ordered the more expensive one, thinking that is the one for the turbo car. You'd think the dealer would know for sure.
I called Courtesy Nissan, in Texas, but they wouldn't give me the number but would sell me one for 10 bucks more than my local dealer, add 10 more bucks more for shipping 20 bucks more total than if I buy it here....I rolled the dice.

If it's wrong, I can probably sell it to Fubar.

right?

Prolly coulda saved 50% if you bought it at AutoZone / Checker / Kragen / NAPA... and you'd have the items in your hand to verify.

Talking autozone

well I did buy one at Autozone. And it cost 12.00 and something. Look at the bargan price item, Fel-Pro against the one from Nissan for my 260Z n/a.

The Nissan one is higher quality for a naturally aspirated engine, I want the same quality for the turbo car.

The Fel-Pro is mostly cardboard and thin
Nissan is asbestos and metal and thick
Fel-Pro has diamond shaped exhaust
Nissan has square shaped exhaust. Just want the best one for when I finally come on boost. That cardboard gasket looks cheap.

the Nissan turbo gasket I got was that black material but without the metal lining. The NA gaskets have the lining... strange.

oh ya, I already have an exhaust leak. Stupid Nissan gasket is worthless! I wonder if I should run an NA gasket with square ports.

You don't happen to have the part number handy? I already got my azz handed to me on zcar.com over trying to find the correct part number. I post there as kenny260.

The post is still on the front page....

it's 14035-P7100. I have the gasket for the Turbo car. I had the same problem. They were looking it up but could only find the non-turbo listed, so the person called the supplier and they looked it up and said it was 14035-P7100.

anyone use the older 240Z/280Z non-turbo square port exhaust gasket? It has metal linnings. I wonder why the turbo one is without any reinformements.

the right part number

Thats what I thought, at least from my standpoint, buying the more expensive one. 14035-P7100.

Guy on zcar told me I bought an obsolete part. Oh well.

Bleach, you gonna go find a machine shop in Seattle?

The turbo car has square exhaust ports. My spare P-90a. The gasket should be for a square port cylinder, not diamond shaped.

Picture shows diamond shaped gasket was used before, on this head that I bought off ebay, the guy said it had been reworked??

I will post pics of turbo gasket, hopefully with square ports.

Wrong [disinformation]. If you bought it, you had to modify it to work. If you are for real....Round ports on that part number for exhaust on that gasket. I spent a while, using a dremel tool, to modify the gasket to use...steel center. It might work, it might not. I don't want to half azz the job.

I am going to re-order the correct part, sorry Nissan dealer support here in Mississippi.

The correct Nissan part number for a Turbo car [P90] is 14035-N3500. The same as for the N/A head.

Cheers! kenny

Thumbs up

You're right on that same part number. I looked up an aftermarket gasket from importedcarparts.com
they list the 1982 280ZX turbo and non-turbo as the same gasket part number. They even have a picture. The bottom gasket with the diamond shape would be for all 1981-83 turbo and NA. (at least those years, maybe more)

The top gasket is for the square port heads from 1974-76. I can get those with steel liners... should I try one on my turbo engine? it almost seems like the gasket material doesn't matter if the same part is used on the NA

The gasket will not fit. I took the exhaust maniflold off yesterday and while the head has square ports, the exhaust manifold had DIAMOND ports!

The one on the bottom is the only one that will fit properly.

look at this picture, it is of the turbo exhaust maniflold ports. diamond shape, square will not fit.
