Newbie from Germany with some questions

Hi folks,

I'm new to the site and I ve just bought an imported 83' 280zxt Turbo 2+2 US version.

As there are only a few US Turbos running in Europe , the knowledge and support of parts for such cars are very very limited and/or better are not existing.

So I would really need your experienced help refer to some of my ( maybe silly ) Newbie questions.

Part Suppliers: Which one in the US with the biggest range you would you recommend ?

Trunk carpet: Which supplier has a trunk carpet like the original with holes for fixation- stripes of T bars.

Exhaust Tube : Is it possible to push the catalysator away and change it to an exhaust pipe without any cat converter ? does such an action have any consequences and/or influence of the car performance or engine process ? we dont have in Germany any emmission regulations for collector cars ,-) so there is no obligation to have

Digital speedo: So far as I ve already searched in forums, there is still no possibility to crack the 85mph ( 180kmh ) electronic-limitation of this speedo. Am I right ? ( for Germany more than a joke as we have here
no speed limitation on highways )

dear all thanks a lot in advance for any replys.

Cheers from Munich
Bernhard

Welcome to ZDriver!

MSA Motorsport Auto / "The Z Store" and BDA Black Dragon Auto are the two largest suppliers of Z parts. Check out our full list:

Yes you can remove the catalytic converter, no negative effects, removing it helps exhaust flow.

Correct, the Digital speedo maxes out at 85mph. You can hack it and make an external speedo if you have lots of spare time. :

Make sure you've downloaded the FSM for free:

Many thanks NismoPick for clearification.

List of suppliers I have found already in the Forum but I am unaware of size/range of these companies.

Kind regards
