i hate useless noobs
so i was surfing craigslist in my area today when i saw a familiar car. it was a member here's car named tristan, cant remember his exact screen name, but he had contacted me to work on his car. i did an exhaust and a transmission swap and clutch as well as a header and built a p79 head for him. in the craigslist ad the new owner shows he has swapped in a new motor in the car. i decided to email him to see why he installed a new motor when the one that was in there was quite stout and had a huge cam. so large infact it wouldnt pass emissions but made driving fun. he said the engine was assembled wrong and wouldnt run and was crap. so after some emailing back and fourth i finnally got the answer, he found the vacuum advance was unplugged and thought that that had made the car run so poorly that the motor was toast. he said it had no power. now knowing tristan had set the timing to near zero to try and pass emissions and i had unplugged the advance as the curve in the dizzy was perfect without it. the new owner scrapped the f54 block and p79 head with .080" shaved off and dereks custom tower shims and a set of $220 lash pads and 500 dollar cam kit. i informed him of the how the setup was built and told him he was a noob. he sent back an email of whatever. nice...

Wow. I'm pretty sure car owners are getting more stuipid as time passes and cars get more advanced. It only takes a little time to learn to do things properly. The problem is you have to struggle to learn it the first time and kids are instant gratification now so no one puts any real effort into figuring things out. I see it all the time at work.... grrr now you got me goin
