Faint ticking
Alright, I know I mush sound like I'm 4 years old or somthing with all these questions, but here's one more.
The other day I noticed a faint ticking sound when my car was pretty low on oil. As soon as I got some oil in it the sound almost went away. Now I can only barely hear it when I drive near a concrete wall or somthing. Anyway It is consistant with the engines r's and doesent sound sloppy. I had a friend take a listen and he seems to be convinced that one of my rockers are probably loose and out of adjustment.
I did a buch of reading in hanes and chilton (no fsm), but couldn't find anything to help me. How would I check this?

all the L engines will tick like that very faintly. the injectors also tick. if its a loud tick that you can hear at idle and you go hmmm, sounds a little loud, THEN you check the lash and adjust the rockers. if its something faint they are fine and your just paranoid.

Haynes manual... PAGE 47 = HOW TO ADJUST VALVE (ROCKER) CLEARANCE
Haynes manual... PAGE 299 = INDEX W/ PAGE NUMBERS OF SPECS AND VALVE ADJUSTMENTS

It is not a knock, unfourtunatly I am very familiar with those as well. Lately I've been noticing alot of problems on my car and am probably just paranoid. It also must have made me stupid because I completly missed page 47 in the hanes manual.
