'79 280zx no pulse to injector, both wires hot, faint spark
I'm getting a friends 280zx on the road after 10 yrs. sitting. The car ran fine, passed smog, was running rough though. Had the gas tank boiled out, and put new fuel pump and fuel filter. Out of the blue, car won't start. I'm getting fuel, but no pulse to the injector to open. I checked the plug to the injector, supposed to be one hot and one negative wire. But, both are hot! The spark is weak, so I installed distributor module...did nothing. Any help or ideas as to what to check?
Thanks

Sounds like a fried ecu. Did you recently try to jump start it? Perhaps jumped it backwards? Have you checked the fusible links?
And did you post this in the 280zx Drivers FB group? Problem sounds familiar...

First off, no I didn't post on FB. But, I just requested to join group to see if problem is similar. And I did put new battery, but long before this issue arouse. Checked fusible links, (fine). I did full tune up, replaced injectors, had fuel pump replaced, gas guage refurbished, cat and muffler. Car ran well enough to get smogged. Car still ran rough a bit still, after that. So I dropped tank and had it boiled out. (lots of varnish inside). When I put tank back in, started it up once...bup, bup bup, then it wouldn't start at all. Then started checking for spark, injector pulse, etc. Replaced Distributor module...nada. I'm getting spark from coil, but no pulse from injector, and spark from spark plug is weak.
Thoughts?
