1979 280zx good buy?

I am looking into purchasing this Datsun 280. What better place to ask then the people who know it best.

1979 Datsun 280ZX 2.8l L6 Blue 5 Spd Manual 2+2 165k

What are the most important things to look into when purchasing are car like this? And advise is helpful. Thanks.

Haha well that means he know a good bit of where to post his car. I'm new to this type of car. Well in your opinion what do you think about it?

I love the Z line... BUUUUUTTTTT... To me the 4-seater looks a bit .

After reading the post he put a lot of time and effort into documenting everything he did. But in my experience getting a title is a bitch, I dont know your state laws but it seems odd that he says a car that old doesn't need a title.

Also, $1400 is a bit much to me for that car. I would keep looking.

Yes it is true that we do not need a title for a car that old. We still need a bill of sale and to register it though. I would have to get the Vin number and check if it is stolen or anything.

carfax will give you a history. the vin is in several places. Don't confuse it with the Model number which should start S130***********

Carfax is only good if the previous owners took the car to legitimate car shops. I had a 1990 300zx in 2009/10 and looked up the carfax and all records stopped in 2000.

I have an 83 turbo for sale now, 5 speed. If you're still looking for a car to buy.
