1979 280zx no electrical power

Hello, my name is Evan, I'm a new member. I just bought a 1979 280zx, its in pretty good shape except for the electrical.

I have power to the starter, fusible links, ignition relays, but, when I turn the key nothing comes on at all. I'm afraid its the brain, but, I don't know how to check it any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I got the electrical fixed, when I replaced the groung wire to the battery I didn't realize it was connected in two spots with another wire behind it. But now my fuel pumps out, I sprayed some starting fluid and turn it over it and it fired up for a second so all I need is the fuel pump

^ That's good, yeah a fuel pump wont set you back too much. And pretty easy to change. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Wow, I wish I had one. So you are saying, you can make a header for a turbo L28? If so, that would be sweet.

Lol, I think what he means is he can make a turbo flange. Take the N/A/ header and put a little square exit with 4 bolts on it...

I've seen it done. Not personally, but i've lurked import threads till the wee hours of the morning to see alot.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with that sunroof. I just have to get some new seals for it, as it tends to rain quite a bit up here in WA. Good starting point, mate!

started taking apart the parts car engine. I need to measure the cylinders but it looks like i'll just need the re-ring bushing kit. Do the turbo piston rings fit a 1979 engine it has the dished pistons. I picked up a rebuilt turbo head P90 for $100.

parts car is apart everything but the unibody is in my shed. I've started making an intake manifold and custom tail lights. right now I'm cleaning the rust off the roof and between the windshield and hood, a few holes that i have to braze which is slowing down everything else. i also have the dash out so i can easily change out the butchered wires.

been working on my roof haven't had much time for anything else, but once that is done i should be able to get it drivable. then i can concentrate on building the engine out of the parts car and adding a turbo.

Friday and today my best friend and I spent 15 hours sanding we finally got to put on some more Bondo and sand it down. The roof is done and the passenger rear quarter panel is close.

The good news is, I'm learning how to Bondo, its just taking longer than I want.
